What Do I Need To Do To Shoot My First Match?

Contact someone from the club
If it is your very first time to shoot IPSC, be sure to contact someone on the list on the first page or an experienced IPSC shooter who will be coming with you. A few minutes on the phone can answer a lot of questions.

What you will need:

  • A pistol or revolver in .9mm/.38 or larger.
  • A serviceable holster that completely covers the trigger guard.
  • At least three magazines or more if you have them with mag pouches for your belt.
  • Eye protection and ear plugs/muffs.
  • A good sturdy belt to hold holster and mag pouches.
  • About 200 rounds of ammunition. You shouldn't use that much but generally we will shoot around 150 rounds.
  • A desire to shoot competitively and have some fun!!

If you want to shoot, but don't have the equipment, contact us and we will see if we can come up with a basic rig to use for your first match.

The first time you shoot, your match fee is on us. We want you to enjoy your first match. Regular match fees are $10.00 for members of MPSA and $15.00 for nonmembers. If you are interested in becoming a member of MPSA, please contact Gregg Wheat at 251.776.6208 for information.
